In the early hours of 18th November 2012 MVH was subjected to an arson attack destroying the original wooden hall that had stood on the site since being donated to the village in 1947.
Due to the superb response and actions of the Surrey Fire & Rescue Service the main hall at the rear was not damaged and just four weeks later that hall was available for use again with temporary kitchen & toilet facilities.
Following a £350K rebuild Mayford now has a new village hall constructed to modern insulation, fireproofing & security standards to serve the residents, groups & organisations of the village well into the future.
