Mayford Village Hall
Mayford Village Hall is managed by a Trustee Group of unpaid volunteers and is situated between the Surrey towns of Guildford and Woking. The hall is available for public hire at times when it is not being used by local clubs, societies and organisations.
Mayford’s Green Belt Under Attack Again
Planning applications have been submitted to Woking Borough Council to build a total of 309 houses on Saunders Lane either side of the village hall. The developer is attempting to justify reclassifying the Green Belt as Grey Belt to circumvent protection of this important natural area, building high-density housing in a semi-rural area with inadequate traffic capacity & local infrastructure. Details of the plans for comment can be found on WBC’s site at PLAN/2025/0831 for the site East of the hall and PLAN/2025/0832 to the West. Further information is available from Mayford Village Society and saunderslane.uk
